The price of Veterinary drug preparation is much higher than APIs, so can we save more money by using APIs?

Good or efficient preparations mainly study the purity, solubility, dissolution, stability, bioavailability of the drug, or bioequivalence with the pioneer product.

A good preparation consists of three elements, including qualified raw materials, excipients and scientific production technology, all of which are indispensable.

First of all, the quality of the raw material is the first element that affects the quality of the drug. In addition to identification and content, the control of impurities in APIs is very important. Excessive impurities entering into the animal body cannot work as drugs, but will cause harm to animals instead. Secondly, the excipients play an important role. It can help increasing the solubility of APIs and controlling its dissolution, so as to improve its bioavailability and increase its efficacy.

Appropriate excipients can increase the stability of the APIs and improve the safety of the drug with high preparation technology. Therefore, it is very rigorous and scientific to determine which excipients to be added, what role it plays and what quantity is needed. Inappropriate excipients cannot ensure the safety and bioequivalence of the drug.

Scientific preparation process is also very important. Good preparation process is an important factor that determines the absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion of drugs in the body. This results in different effects of drugs from different veterinary drug manufacturers.

If the process is not done well, on the one hand, the drugs cannot play a therapeutic role, it will be excreted or destroyed without effective utilization and metabolic absorption in the animal body. On the other hand, the drugs have not been used or have not yet achieved its effects, many of which are destroyed and decomposed, thus the drug not only reduce the effect, but also may cause harm to the animal itself.

Therefore, the use of APIs is neither economical nor safe. Animal diseases require clinical veterinarian to diagnose and analyze the pathogens, choose drug preparation produced by scientific preparation technology, according to the disease adopt separate or combined treatments to treat animal disease, so as to achieve effective, safe and economic purpose.
