Tylosin Tartrate Injection

Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic obtained in the United States in 1959 from the culture medium of Streptomyces freundii. It is an animal-specific antibiotic with specific efficacy against mycoplasma and most Gram-positive bacterial infections. It is mainly used to treat and prevent various respiratory, intestinal, reproductive, and musculoskeletal infections caused by pathogens such as mycoplasma, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Diplasma pneumoniae, Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Haemophilus parasuis, Neisseria meningitidis, Pasteurella multocida, spirochetes, and coccidia. It is highly effective in preventing and treating secondary mycoplasma infections in livestock and poultry during viral disease outbreaks, with efficacy superior to erythromycin, tebuconazole, and tiamulin.

Product Advantages

1. High Stability: Tylosin tartrate for injection, when dissolved in sterile water for injection at a 1:10 ratio, showed stable content after 0h, 2h, 6h, 12h, 24h, 48h, and 72h at 25℃, 10℃, -4℃, and -18℃, with no degradation products (HPLC chromatogram showed no abnormal peaks). Content, pH value, and other parameters met pharmacopoeia quality requirements.

2. Low Irritation: Tylosin tartrate for injection, when used at the standard dose and diluted with 0.9% sodium chloride injection, was administered intramuscularly to the neck and rump of piglets once daily for 5 consecutive days. During the injection process, apart from local pain at the injection site, no abnormal phenomena such as redness, swelling, fever, or sensitivity to touch were observed at the injection site daily. Necropsy on the 14th day revealed no pathological changes such as local tissue hemorrhage, inflammation, necrosis, suppuration, hyperplasia, or “pustule” formation at the injection site, showing no difference compared to the saline group.

Compatible Applications:

1. When accompanied by mycoplasma infections (such as swine enzootic pneumonia, mycoplasmal arthritis), using it in combination with Barclean (Compound Sulfamonomethoxine Sodium Injection) will yield better results;

2. This product can be used in combination with alkaline substances to enhance stability and efficacy;

3. This product can be used in combination with gentamicin, neomycin, florfenicol, etc., to increase efficacy.

Precautions

1. Do not mix with acidic substances to avoid drug decomposition and inactivation;

2. Avoid mixing this product with sodium chloride and calcium chloride, as this may cause precipitation and release of free alkali;

3. Avoid high-dose administration of this product, as it may cause hepatotoxicity, mainly manifested as cholestasis, and may also cause vomiting and diarrhea;

4. This product is irritating. Intramuscular injection may cause severe pain, and intravenous injection may cause thrombophlebitis and periphlebitis.
