From October 19 to 24. 2020, the 9th Forum On China Animal Husbandry Science and Technology was held in Rongchang, a city entitled “Land of Animal husbandry of China”. This forum is biennial since it started in 2004. As the highest level of event on China’s animal husbandry science and technology, this forum has always bear the mission of gathering the latest achievements of agriculture and husbandry and promoted a healthy development of animal husbandry. Here below is a brief review on the latest technology and information from this forum.
With the theme of “science and technology innovation enables animal husbandry industry” , This forum focused on technology talents, the economy and intelligenitzation of animal husbandry industry , and aimed to build a platform for exchange of frontier academic achievements and tranformation of scientific research achievements in the field of animal husbandry. So the conference held a series of activities including “Five Forums”, “Two Symposiums”, “Two Contests”, “One Expo”.etc.
Five Forums: “High level forum on China’s animal husbandry development”, “Thematic forum on animal husbandry development”, “Regional cooperation forum on hog industry of twin-cities-economy circle of Chengdu & Chongqing”, “The 2nd new agricultural talents training forum”, and “The 3rd China veterinary medicine innovation and development and ASF prevention and Control Forum”.
Two Symposiums: “Expert consultation meeting on the construction of national animal husbandry science and technology city and the 14th-five-year plan” on scientific research development of Chongqing Academy of animal husbandry Sciences”; And “the 9th National Symposium of young scientific and technological workers of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine.”
Two Contests: “Sichuan Chongqing Animal Husbandry labor and skills competition”, “The 7th ”TQLS Cup” revitalization of China’s animal husbandry contribution (outstanding person) award”. The 9th China animal husbandry science and technology forum excellent paper selection.
One Expo: “The 1st Hi-Tech achievements Expo of China Agricultural and animal husbandry”
The “five forums” and “two symposiums” invited the leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China, academicians, experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and other industry leaders in related fields to issue keynote reports, On these forums and symposiums, opinions on promoting the high-quality development of modern animal husbandry, the cutting-edge academic achievements at home and abroad and current major scientific research achievements were shared; Some new hot issues such as industrial development trends, big data and intelligent application were also discussed, including some livelihood focus issues like zoonotic diseases and emerging diseases.These forums discussed and orientied the development of high quality animal husbandry.
“The 1st China Hi-tech achievements exhibition of agriculture and animal husbandry” organized 5 national high-tech zones in Sichuan and Chongqing region, 262 enterprises of feed and veterinary medicine, agricultural and husbandry machinery and intangible cultural heritage to participate in the exhibition,. the high and new technology and characteristic products of animal husbandry were exhibited
In the Sichuan & Chongqing Animal Husbandry labor and skill competition, 178 competitors from 32 Chongqing districts and counties and 7 Sichuan districts and counties competed on the same stage. Strengthen the cooperation between Sichuan and Chongqing. Give full play to the important role of labor skills competition of animal husbandry to promote the construction of Chongqing & Chengdu Economy circle.
The conference also selected 10 workers who have made outstanding achievements and outstanding contributions in the field of animal husbandry & veterinary medicine and 10 young scholars with outstanding academic attainments. The selection stimulated the enthusiasm of scientific and technological workers, and made the momentum of scientific and technological research and innovation of animal husbandry more powerful.
The forum has played an important role in promoting information exchange, achievement transformation and economic cooperation of animal husbandry industry. Although the forum has closed, the results of the forum will continue to promote the development and progress of China’s animal husbandry.
